Description
Seal Gland:
For use with type 1 seals. In combination with the type 1 seal the seal gland makes a much more cost effective way to seal your pumps. With the seal gland in place mechanical seal changes can cost a couple of hundred dollars compared to a thousand or even thousands of dollars when using cartridge seals. Though many consider cartridge seals much easier to replace. They can be very expensive. We hear it all the time. Where our clients are wanting a less expensive alternative. Its true that installing a Type 1 seal can be a little more difficult. But with a little patience and experience anyone can become an pro very quickly. We are sure the thousands saved will outweigh the added time and small inconvenience. But we will let you be the judge.
We offer two types of Seal glands. One type fits the standard bore style cover plate. The other type fits the Big bore type cover plates. Lets discuss each one:
Standard bore gland: Our gland is a direct replacement to Goulds, Summit, Peerless, or Griswold brand glands. We offer this gland currently in 316 SS.
Big Bore Gland: Our Big bore gland is different. The Others offer a gland that takes an encapsulated oring. This is a great design. The only issue it becomes difficult to find this oring in many locals around the world. So we do something a little different, and we think kind of special. With you in mind we have changed our design to take a flat gasket. This gasket can be found or sourced from any gasket shop. Not to worry, the rest of the gland is comparable to the Goulds, Summit, Peerless, and or Griswold big bore glands.
Disclaimer ***: We are not associated with ITT Goulds, Summit, Peerless, and or Griswold. These are all great companies. But we do not sell there products. They are all registered trademarks. We simply use the names as a reference. We do offer quality aftermarket parts that compare to their parts.
