Cover Plates (Stuffing Boxes) for STX, MTX, and LTX Type Pumps
Replicate Pumps manufactures replacement rear pump cover plates/back plates (stuffing boxes) to the highest quality industry and OEM specifications and standards. We offer a variety of covers for your pump at a reasonable price. Each MT/MTX, ST/STX, and LT/LTX type cover is thoroughly inspected prior to shipping. All Replicate covers are included in our damage-free guarantee. Your seal chamber/stuffing box cover should be replaced as soon as possible if a visual inspection reveals cracks, corrosion, erosion, pitting, scoring, grooves or other wear more than 1/8” deep.
Replacement Rear Covers for Peerless, Goulds, Summit, and Griswold Pumps
We carry a variety of bore types and sizes for our replacement covers designed to fit Griswold, Peerless, Goulds, Summit, and other major brands of ANSI pumps. Available bore types include: standard, big, and taper.
Available Bores (Flow Modifiers/Stuffing Boxes):
Standard Bore: Designed for packing; Can be used with mechanical seals; Ideal for use with:
- Water-based liquids, with flush
Big Bore: Designed for applications requiring improved lubrication and cooling of the seal; Allows more process fluid into chamber; More cost-effective over the life of the pump; Ideal for several uses, including:
- Water based liquids, with flush
- Solids (levels greater than 10%), with flush
- Paper stock (0 to 5%), with flush
- Seal face heat removal
Taper Bore: Specialty applications; the bore diameter is larger toward the impeller side; Reduces heat and solids buildup
Sizes Include:
- ST/STX: 6” diameter
- ST/STX: 8” diameter
- MT/MTX: 8” diameter
- MT/MTX: 10” diameter
- MT/MTX: 13” diameter
If you require a 15” or 17” cover plate, let us know. We can provide these larger sizes for you. Please note that lead times for these sizes tend to be longer than that for our standard lineup of sizes.

Order WCB, CF8M, Cd4MCuN Pump Cover Plates
Cover plates can be ordered in three materials to meet the needs of your specific industry. All cover plates fit both the STX and MTX pump designs, and are available in small, big, and taper bore. Available materials for all impeller orders include:
WCB: Weldable cast iron
CF8M: Stainless steel
Cd4MCuN: Duplex stainless steel
Cd4MCuN is a high-strength materials that provides greater corrosion resistance than stainless steel and cast iron and significantly increased resistance to chloride stress cracking/localized corrosion. It does not pit like standard stainless steel. These properties enable your pump to be used with more abrasive materials.
